Omid Shams’ ‘Birthday Night’ is attending an event on Iranian short films in Turkey’s Izmir.

Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘Birthday Night’ will be screened as part of the event “Month of Iranian Short Film” along with other short films from Iran, including Saeed Nejati’s ‘It Rains Slowly’ and ‘Azadeh’ by Mirabbas Khosravinejad.

Written and directed by Shams, ‘Birthday Night’ narrates the story of two friends and business partners, Ahmad and Ali, who face unexpected challenges on their birthday night.

The film attended several international festivals, including the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France and International Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey.

It brought Mohammad Najjarian-Nourian the Best Film Editing award at the Diamond Film Awards in Italy.

The event kicked off on February 6 and is well-received by fans of Iranian films. It will run until March 7.

Two short films from Iran are screened every week as part of the event.
